Job description:My external wall hung Heating World Grandee Oil Burner (3 years old and regularly serviced) has all of a sudden developed a random thumping noice (sounds like a loud thump on the wall around it). It seems to be a lot worse when heating water only and the longer the boiler runs the worse the noice gets. I have bleed all the radiators and checked the expansion tank level, all OK. Fernox was added to the system when it was last drained down 2010. I have drained 2 litres out of one of the radiators and it is clear of sludge and other than the fernox it is clear and clean. I have tried turning the boiler thermostat down and increased the pump setting to 3 from 2 neither made any difference. Need to get this fixed
