Job description:Dear Tradesman, We would like to convert the loft in our new build mid-terrace house (built October 2010). It has a pitched/gabled roof with truss 'W' shaped struts, is approximately 4.35m wide, 7.6m deep and 2.75m high. We would like to change the loft into a bedroom with 2 velux windows and a staircase built leading up to it (no bathroom or additional rooms needed). We would like a tradesman who: - Can draw up plans - Can liaise with local council and planning organisations where necessary (and has knowledge and experience of what is necessary) - Has knowledge and experience of working in a conservation area and is able to liaise with relevant organisations to ensure the loft conversion is suitable. - Has experience of converting truss roof lofts - Has knowledge and experience about insulation and sound proofing - Can liaise with building inspectors and work to regulations that apply to loft conversions (including fire safety and sound proofing). - Can build staircases - Can build cupboards (underneath staircase and in the eve's of the loft conversion) - Can plaster, paint and decorate - Can install velux windows - Can put in new electricity points - Can put in mains connected smoke alarms - Can put in radiators - Guarantees all work carried out *If the tradesman cannot draw up plans, do the plastering, plumbing, carpentry and electrical work themselves then we would want them to have other trusted tradesmen that they work with that can do this job.
