Would like to replace loft ladder with permanent stairs of some kind to our partially converted loft in Portslade

Job description:When we moved in, the loft room was already boarded, carpeted etc and has a velux window. We use it as an occasional bedroom for visitors but it can only be accessed by a pull down ladder which blocks the landing. We would really like to find a way of creating permanant access to this room and improving it- either normal stairs, spiral stairs or alternating tread space saver but cannot work out if this is possible. We live in a 1930s end terrace in Portslade with a fairly small landing area. Thank you.
