Job description:In my recently purchased property, they previous owners, in 1991, converted the loft into a living space, however they did not request building regs. Having spoke to the council, i have been told that i have to get the area up to 1991 building and fire regs, ensuring that the loft is structually sound. the 'king post' in the loft has been removed, but due to the previous owners 'fuzzy approach' to the matter i am unsure if the floor was re strenghtened. The approx work i will require is to make the room structually sound and bring it up to building and fire regs so that i can apply for it throught the council.
