Ideal classic SE12 RS - no pilot light assume why no hot water in Gipping

Job description:No hot water boiler sounds like it is on I cannot get pilot to light I know it won't be on all the time but now it will never come on sounds like a fan working when turn it on but doesn't produce anything could fan be stuck and causing some pressure probelm or is there a blockage to the pilot? Does need a service but last plumber booked to do it was a no show - same one that has been promising to fix my radiators since Sept 2009!!!!! Hence looking for a reliable an affordable new plumber!
