Job description:Insulating and re-tiling We moved into a 1970s chalet style house last year and it is not very well insulated – just a 1cm layer of polystyrene tiles from what I can see. Insulating from the inside would be very messy and invasive so not an option. Access from the loft is hard too as it was partially converted. From the research I have done, the best option seems to be lifting the tiles and then re-insulating between the rafters, leaving an air gap. Costwise, replacing the tiles at the same time seems to make sense. Have attached some photos.
