Lifting concrete tiles, insulating and then replacing original tiles in Penn and Coleshill

Needed: Roofer in Penn and Coleshill, HP9

Job submitted:Jun 25, 2011

Job description:We moved into a 1970s chalet style house in January and it is not very well insulated – just a 1cm layer of polystyrene tiles from what I can see. Insulating from the inside would be very messy and invasive so not an option. Access from the loft is hard too as it was partially converted. From the research I have done, the best option seems to be lifting the tiles and then re-insulating between the rafters, leaving an air gap. The house was extended in 2006 and I’m assuming the new part is better insulated thanks to better building regs. Would like to get the work done before winter. Have attached some photos.

Budget:Under £4,000
