Job description:Slate roof of large early Victorian terraced house. Reroofed about 20 yrs ago with artificial slates - which we now regret, but then we didn't know what we were doing! Since recent very high winds, several slates have blown off and neighbour opposite has kindly informed us of major problem with bare patches and exposed nails on front roof slope. We are considering reroofing. Have saved considerable number of original slates (in our cellar) from years ago, so maybe, if we reroof rather than patch, we should go for real slate. All depends on costs of course. Will require scaffolding. Access to view the job initially can be made through attic bedroom.
