Due to sagging purlin(s) the roof requires additional support and may need re-tiling. in South Heaton
Needed: Roofer in South Heaton, NE6
Job submitted:Sep 29, 2011
Job description:We are in the process of buying a terraced house in Newcastle, built circa 1895. The building survey highlighted that the purlin on the south side of the roof is sagging. This has led to hogging, with the tiles being noticably displaced where our house joins the neighbouring property. From inside the loft daylight can be seen through the roof. We're unsure whether the problem could be fixed by additional support being added from inside or if scaffolding would be required to fix the structure and re-tile. We really need to have an idea of possible costs as soon as possible and appreciate that in providing an estimate quickly, that it would merely provide a ball-park figure. We are eager to move quickly as the purchase of the house depends upon whether we can afford this work.
Budget:Under £8,000
