Roof problem in Cowley

Needed: Roofer in Cowley, OX4

Job submitted:Aug 1, 2007

Job description:problem with intersection of 1920s tile roof with newer (1990) roof, caused by new render that leaves little overhang on tiles. Rainwater entering through rendering and causing damp. solution: Extend fascia and gutter of roof for 500mm or so. Cover triangular area with Flashband*, bottom dressed into gutter, top trimmed to underside of tiles. Finally insert 40x40mm lead angle under edge of slates and over vertical Flashband. Apply clear mastic sealant bead to joint between slate and lead. That should stop rainwater running down the wall face in this area. *you can decide if you need to locally hack off render, and insert a bit of WBP ply to the triangle. The new fascia must be the same dims and alignment as the existing fascia, but it could be made from a single piece of plywood.

Budget:I'm not sure
