Damp walls possibly due to guttering problem. in Caversham
Needed: Roofer in Caversham, RG4
Job submitted:Dec 29, 2008
Job description:2 storey victorian mid-terrace house. Problems with damp on exterior walls. Definite problem with gutters (or possibly flashing) at rear of house - water pours down outside of wall when rain is falling. However, gutter does not appear to be blocked when tested by pouring bottles of water into gutter. The problem could be that rain water running out of a roof valley is missing the guttering, so pours down the wall instead of down the drainpipe. At front of house - not sure what problem may be, but the wall is very damp on the inside, and I suspect it could be due to a problem with the guttering or with the flashing. I need someone to take a look at the whole guttering/rainwater system, to tell me if there's something wrong, and if there is, what needs to be done to fix it.
