Replacement of roof light in flat roof terrace in Chaucer

Needed: Roofer in Chaucer, SE1

Job submitted:Mar 29, 2011

Job description:We have an existing hexagon based pyramidal roof light, which we want to change for a walk-on unit. The roof light straddles a kitchen and bathroom, and is fitted into a flat roof terrace, surrounding by decking. The job is to remove the current roof light, prepare the existing upstand (including lowering it to be in line with the decking), and then to fit the new walk-on roof light unit. It may be necessary for two stages - preparation of the upstand to allow measurements to be taken for the unit to be made, and then a return visit to fit the new roof light once it is manufactured. If this is the case, the hole will need to be made weatherproof in the interim. The skylight will be a little over 2m in width at its widest point, and will be sourced separately. As indicated it currently straddles a room divide, and the new roof light when fitted will need to be appropriately finished and sealed to ensure the two rooms are kept separate. For information, the walk on unit will have one side obscured (over bathroom), and one side clear. Those that can demonstrate previous experience of fitting walk-on roof lights into flat roofs will be preferred. Timing is as soon as possible.

Budget:Under £1,000
