Kitchen Damp in Clifton East

Job description:We have an mdf board in our kitchen which is damp, we have just had the internal wall (where the damp was predominately worse) removed and plastered yesterday. We would like to get the mdf damp fixed or find out if this is likely to spread. Not sure if this needs removing and plastering or damp proofing.
