Detailed Damp Survey and remedial work on any issues found on a house to be bought in Patching Hall
Needed: Specialist Tradesman in Patching Hall, CM1
Job submitted:Dec 8, 2010
Job description:Recently had a Homebuyers survery which identified areas of damp including penetrating damp. Penetrating Damp may be due to defective flashings around chimney stack, roof coverings but not confirmed (this is on a second floor bedroom). Damp proof courses to the base of external walls were not visible, as they were covered by either cement plinths, and/or by the render finish to other elevations. The damp proof course is therefore bridged, and suitable detailing needs to be provided so that there is a gap between the render finishes at the damp proof course line with a suitable bell mouth finish to the render above. The internal walls were found to be damp at low level in the dining room to the rear wall to the left hand side of the French doors. I could not discover the cause so you should ask an appropriate qualified person to investigate the matter further.
Budget:£1,000 - £2,000
