Partition wall (using 'acoustic' glass wool) to effectively soundproof against noisy neighbours in Fountainbridge Craiglockhart
Needed: Specialist Tradesman in Fountainbridge Craiglockhart, EH11
Job submitted:Mar 14, 2011
Job description:We have noisy neighbours and our bedroom wall sounds paper thin. We can hear people talking as though they are actually in our room, not next door! We'd like to have someone construct a partition wall against the offending wall using 'acoustic' glass wool to effectively soundproof it. We've been told that a layer of 'Soundboard' placed between the 'acoustic' glass wool and plasterboard may also be a good idea so we're keen to hear what you think about that too but are happy to be advised on the best solution. The wall is approx. 4x3 metres. There's no electrical lines or sockets to move in this wall but there is simple coving on the ceiling which the corners of the new plasterboard would need shaped in some way to fit flush against. This is the second time we've posted this job on Rated People. We were repeatedly stood-up by our first tradesperson and our second on the list appears to have dropped off the planet. So please only take this enquiry if you're serious about quoting and actually doing the work! Thanks in advance for replying. Regards, Ian Livingstone.
