Job description:I live in a first floor flat, the building is a Victorian house which was converted in 1983. I need sound insulation in the 2 bedrooms, which have a kitchen and living room below. In my bedroom, which is above the kitchen I can hear voices, draws/ cupboards opening & closing and the food mixer sounds like it is in my room. I do have laminate flooring which I do realise will contribute to the problem of noise transmitting and I definitely intend to get a carpet, but I need advice as to whether carpets alone would be enough to stop the noise from downstairs. The other bedroom has carpet, but I can hear the TV from downstairs. Advice welcome. Many thanks, Lucy
