Fixing damp in a built in wardrobe on outside wall in Castle

Job description:Damp in built in wardrobe, think it could be penetrative damp coming from outside wall where dark patch appears. Have looked for leaks but cant find any. Wardrobe smells foisty and mould grows over shoes etc. have tried humidifier but not enough.
