Job description: Digital DVD Combo Recorder Repair. It is a Panasonic DMR EZ 45V. It has ceased recognizing any discs and the fan is not running. When a disc is put into the machine, the laser carrier hunts backwards and forwards 5 times near the centre of the disc but the disc does not spin. It stops hunting. The disc spins for a fraction of a second and stops. The hunting begins again 5 times, then this stops. A message then comes up saying the disc cannot be read. This applies to minus R and plus RW. The other functions of the machine work well. What is the problem ? Roy.
