To cut away part of a granite worktop to allow installation of a freestanding gas cooker in Ashton

Needed: Stoneworker / Stonemason in Ashton, FY8

Job submitted:Nov 8, 2010

Job description:A gas hob is currently set into the granite worktop. The cooker below is electric. A freestanding gas cooker is to be installed, but the section of the worktop surrounding the hob has to be cut away so that the gas hob and electric cooker can be removed and the gas cooker installed.. The depth of the granite worktop is 4cm, and appears to be two 'layers' of 2cm. The width needed for the cooker is approx. 63cm. Howver, the section of the work top in which the cooker area is included has a 'join' at its lefthand side and measures 100cm at its widest point. It may be that this whole section could be removed to save cutting through the worktop on the righthand side of the cooker. The cooker is here awaiting installation, and the gas fitter will disconnect the gas supply before work is started on the granite worktop. The matter is not "urgent", but clearly the sooner it can be done, the better. I look foward to receiving quotes. Thank you.

Budget:I'm not sure
