Fixing pane in bottom half of top floor sash window in Regency

Job description:The pane smashed due to the window being in need of restoration. We're looking for a temporary cheaper solution by replacing the pane until we decide to sell and will have sash windows restored. The flat is a top floor flat on the seafront in Brighton and so may be trickier to replace?
