Job description:Description of works: 1. Overhaul timber casement windows Overhaul all defective timber windows. Cut out and renew defective woodwork with sound well seasoned timber and and renew any defecting glazing, putty and fittings, ensuring any holes which have been created as a pathway for cables are filled/ sealed appropriately. Ease and adjust the opening casements as neccesery and live so as to open and close properly and to be weathertight. Make good any disturbed surface and leave the window in sound weathertight condition. - If the lounge window is overhauled, the lower openings must be replaced with an opening casement. 2. Renew defective windows Take out all defective timber windows. Provide and fix replacement windows complete with all fottings, (with permanent tickle ventilation) and with an adequate area capable of being opened. Make good all disturbed surfaces and leave in a secure and weathertight condition. 3. External door and frame Take down the defective external door to the rear and strip out the defective external door frame. Provide and fix new external framewith cill constructed of sound well seasoned timber and hang new external door with weather board and all neccesery ironmongery. Make good all disturbed surfaces, properly seal the frame to the brickwork. 4. Renew window board Take out and renew the defective window board to the kitchen/ dining room window and make good all disturbed surfaces. 5. Apply layer of safety film onto the glazing or install additional guarding to the internal face of the glazing in 2 bedrooms. All new glazing installed in critical locations (i.e. glazing in windows less than 800mm above floor level and glazing doors less than 1500mm above floor level) must be capable of breaking safely. (i.e. safety glass). Apply lyer of safety film onto the glazing which would meet the standards set out in part N of the buiding regulations, or install additional guarding to the internal face of the glazing in accordance with the Part N of the building regulations.
