Leaky conservatory roof in Chadderton

Needed: Window & Conservatory Specialist in Chadderton, OL9

Job submitted:Nov 11, 2008

Job description:@4m long x 2m wide rectangular conservatory with single sloping roof attached to the side of the house has a leaky roof. A lot of silicone sealant has been pumped in from internally which lasts a few month then slowly lets the leaks in. It looks like external reseal especially along where it joins the wall for some 4m is required. Inspection of some individual seals on panes may be required although i belive its where the conservatory joining the wall is the problem. Access ladders / scaffolding would be required, as with most conservatories the roof cannot be climbed upon. It looks like the old lead flashing used to link the conservatory to the wall has decayed and requires replacing, but the job would have to be inspected because i am not a conservatory specialist. One long pane (the roof consists of 8 plastic sheets) requires pushing back as it has slipped a few inches also, physically pushing it doesnt move the thing. This may contribute to the leaks in that corner. The leaks are not major but it does require attention to prevent the conservatory becoming damp over time. The conservatory is easily 10 years old - on the surface of it, it looks like a straightforward repair job with access being the issue. Thanks

Budget:I'm not sure
