"Brian, Thank you for confirmimg the niagra falls that occured during your works. These leaks were pointed out to you by my husband who upon arriving home tested all the works as you completed them, this included the basin leak you highlighted in your correspondance. You chose to omit that the shower tray leaked, the shower cubicle wall leaked and the shower cubicle door leaked. We are still awaiting confirmation from you that the door seals are correct. These leaks lead to you having to reseal the kitchen ceiling at your cost, which you did begrudingly. As you stated we have said that we were happy with the works, eventually, but wish to remind you of some of the remidials that you were asked to carry out which led to my husband stopping the final payment cheque as on completion of the works you were difficult to contact, my husband is only glad he didn't give you a cash payment as you requested, 1) Refit mirror as it was fitted with the incorrect adhesive. 2) Remove and replace 25% of the wall tiling. 3) Remove and replace large quantities of the mastic works. We feel that this ongoing correspondance highlights the fact that you are unwilling to accept when you have made mistakes and expect your clients to pick up the bill."

"In response to your comments Brian, The first cheque that we gave you was sent back due to banking errors, as you were informed immediately of, and then funds were organised straight away for you before you or the suppliers were even aware that there was a problem. The second cheque was stopped due to unsatisfactory work on the bathroom as there were numerous leaks and poor finishing of the job. Some payment was given to you at the end of the first week to fund any costs which you incurred unexpectedly, as at the start of the job it was agreed that you would not want payment until the job was completed to our satisfaction. I'm sorry to hear that you feel we were obstructive and hard to work with, we just have certain standards that we expect from a professional building company."

"Quality - We are happy with the bathroom now, however, this was after a number of discussions with Brian regarding the quality of the tiling and some of the fittings having leaks. The job was rushed at the end which resulted some poor finishes that we have had to repair ourselves. Value - Brian gave us a good price for the bathroom suite which was through trade suppliers, his labour price was also competitive even though our final invoice increased from the original quote, this again had to be discussed before all parties were agreeable. Reliabilty - Brian attended the job when he said that he would and did come back to sort out the problems that we had with the leaks and tiling. Although we are happy now with the bathroom, it wasn't a particuarly enjoyable experience to have the work done with [COMPANY NAME]."
