Overflowing toilet cistern with a difficult access behind tounge and grooved panels
Alan from Cross Spear Plumbing contacted me within minutes of my post on Rated people. He was polite, efficient and thorough. The job was simple but a bit tedious or awkward because of having to remove a panel to access the toilet cistern. Alan put a new washer around the handle mechanism and put everything back securely. I paid £85 (including £10 for a "washer off a new valve"). It was worth it because of the professionalism and convenience. I would highly recommend Cross Spear.
Small 6sq m bathroom requires refurbishment, including tiling, new large mirror, encasement of piping underneath the washbasin to create a small cabinet, and raising of washbasin by about 40cm.. Bath to be retained. Toilet pan possibly to be replaced with wall fitted unit.
Clean, punctual, pleasant and good workmanship is a simple summary of KAs work. Wasn't the cheapest quote but stood out from the site inspection as being professional. We both found it helpful to prepare a detailed work spec in advance, as this reduced communication problems later.
Sink and toilet to be replaced, replumbed and removed. No decision yet on models, but aiming for mid-price and simple. Room will require top down redecoration, with partial tiling.
A really very impressive job, carried out to a brief that, due to the limitations of the rooms themselves, had to be altered as the project proceeded. I found Alvaro to be patient, creative, industrious and with a good eye for detail. I'd certainly have no reservations about re-contracting him to carry out other work in the future.
I would like to get my inadequate bathroom re-designed and made fit for purpose as it falls short at the moment and is in desperate need of modernisation. It is a very, very, small room and at present only has a shower in the room. it did, many years ago have a bath in the room but i really dont know how they got everything else in there...!!
Unsold lead, updated details: Repair of kitchen wall potentially required. Original: Repair shower Additional information: 1st floor shower with leak under shower pan, water coming down into wall in floor below.
Removal of cast iron bath and taps. Refitting new acrylic bath with shower glass and panel plus mixer taps. Some boxing in of pipes - possibly.
We are planning a bathroom refurb. and are looking for quotes at the momentand. Job will involve removal of bathroom suite and installation of new suite: bath, wash-basin and toilet. Also, flooring, lighting and tongue/groove panelling. We will supply the main products. If you are interested in undertaking this please contact me to make an appointment to view and assess. We would like the job to start in June if possible. We're not sure about the budget - possibly between 2 and 3k.
Modernising an old bathroom, replacing sink, toilet, bidet & bath. Re-tiling.
I have recently bought a property, and some of the walls/ceilings are quite fragile. In my bathroom, I've recently put in a new extractor fan into a plasterboard ceiling - however some of the plasterboard has broken around the fan/light - so I now have a hole in my bathroom ceiling panel, close to the shower head.
I need someone to fix this hole, and ensure the electrics etc are safe afterwards as the extractor fan has a light built in.
converting bathroom to shower room
I would like a complete bathroom fit out, including lighting electrics plumbing and plastering and tiling.I would like two quotes one to supply and fit what I have designed and another just to fit.
Tiling on the walls and floor, boiler and pipes boxing in, down lighters installed, new toliet and shower (shower over the bath), new taps in the sink and bath, tiling around the bath, mirror cabinet hanging, all rubbish cleared,
After a quote only at the moment
Need to install a fan in the bathroom that there has not been one. The wall is a about 40cm thick, it may be better to place the fan onto window glass. Looking forward to hearing from you.
