-Bathroom is currently ~1.7m x 1.9m with the old boiler cupboard next door. We are looking to knock through the cupboard into the bathroom and block up 2 doors, to make the dimensions ~1.7x2.54. The bathroom then needs to be completely refurbished - taken back to brick & replastered, tiled on 1 full wall (1.7m wide) and half height on another wall (2.54m wide) and full height for about 1m on a third wall. The floor will also be fully tiled. A bath, shower, sink and toilet will then be installed. The shower will remain in its original position, the bath will be new (currently only a shower cubical), the sink and toilet will be reused but moved to new locations. New lights and an extraction fan need to be installed and the soil stack replaced. Tiles and units to be provided by myself but consumables, light fittings and extractor fan to be provided by the tradesman.
Ideally looking for work to start on 16th May or within the 2 weeks following as already had someone lined up for this but have fallen through.
Rough plans are available.
The job was completed on time and to the same cost as originally quoted and we now have a lovely new bathroom to enjoy so thank you Judd. However the finishing detail wasn't always great. The plaster particularly is bumpy and has gaps which need filling. It just feels like it was rushed at the end, resulting in more work for me to do prior to decorating. We have also had 2 leaks, one during the job, which had we not spotted in the evening, could've severely damaged the house, and a second after getting back from holiday the week after the job finished, only to find a leaking valve. Although these cant always be spotted, it made the whole experience a little more frustrating than it needed to be.Christopher
We need the whole job doing new tiles new suite level and fix floor then tile the floor replace the old over the bath electric with a power shower
J Powell fitted our bathroom which consisted of ripping the old one out totally replastering it reflooring it and tiling and plumbing a new suite in. Not only did he do this he moved a soil pipe and did the drain work and repaired our conservatory roof where the old soil pipe had gone through. Judd also coordinated the fitting of a combi bolier to coinside with the work he was carrying out.
All the work completed is very good and we are happy to have used Judd. Have sent him pictures so maybe you can ask to have a look if considering using him.
