Reviews of Bricklayers in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

Bar Hill, CB23

Under £250
small section of a 5ft brick wall needs re-building (I have saved some of the bricks that came off in the wind, but don't know if some new ones will be needed to match in), plus a brick step by back door is crumbling and may need re-doing. We are in Bar Hill, Cambridge.
Mr Anderson rebuilt part of my garden wall and the back doorsteps. He has done a perfect job, seamlessly matching the new bricks to the existing ones. I would have no hesitation in recommending the quality of his work to anyone!

I live in a 1930s terraced house and the front bedroom bay brickwork appears damp on the wall inside. Maybe the guttering or pointing? I need someone to assess the problem and rectify please.
I am in the middle of the building and maintainence work I have commissioned Cook and Son to complete. I am very, very pleased with progress so far. They are thoughtful, considerate, tidy builders who have been punctual and efficient with everything .

Garden boundary 6 metre long by 2 metre high brick wall is leaning away from property into public pathway beyond. The bricks in the corner have pulled away from perpendicular brick wall. Can this be repaired or demolished and replaced with a wooden fence? Vague possibility that two overgrown bushes may need to be removed to resolve ongoing problems.
Chris from Sustain was pleasant and straight forward to deal with. He and his colleague were tidy and efficient. The job even came in a little under the original quote! Good general garden and building maintenance people.

The concrete base is already laid. There are 200 dense concrete blocks, cement, sand, etc. I just need one bricklayer to build the walls (about 20 square metres) as I'll be the "gofer" and will do the roof myself afterwards Happy to consider quotes as a day rate and/or all-in for the job
My slightly-too-ambitious-for-DIY job only needed a few days of brickwork. A lot of other builders ignored what I actually wanted and tried to hide an inflated price behind an "all-in" quote including stuff I hadn't asked for. However Tony Fuller was completely honest and straight up and wasn't trying to squeeze me for as much money as he thought he could get away with. He took the job on at a (very reasonable) day rate, and was happy to put up with me being his "gofer" for the day-and-a-half it took him to complete the job (which was quicker than originally estimated). Tony did a very professional job, was good conversation and was a pleasure to work with. I will certainly contact him first with any future jobs I have, and I would happily recommend him.

I'm not sure
I want to replace a wooden garden fence with a 6ft high Flemish bond brick wall along two sides of the garden. Total length approx 18 metres including one corner. I already have a lintel for the corner but I don't have the brick. Needs also a decorative "double cant" course along the top. Also would like it to have a wooden gate.
Trustworthy and hard working. Beautiful wall. Thank you.

Unsold Job, Updated Details : Knock down and rebuild 6 brick piers. Piers are half the height of fence, the lower foundation wall is still sound. Pier dimensions are 1.5 x 1.5 (4 per course) x 18 bricks high, so 432 bricks to lay in total. Prefer to reuse original bricks if possible. Can be rebuilt to a height of 17 bricks (to allow for waste if original bricks are reused). New pier caps are also required. Tradesman to supply pier caps and mortar. front garden (approx 12' x 9') requiring a double brick thick wall on 3 sides, allowing for a wooden gate at the path. 1 side currently has a deteriating single brick wall that could be demolished and salvaged for bricks if necessary. I am happy to take the advice on this. Approx 4' high wall wanted on all sides. Curved coping stones also desired. Already have a selection of Cambridge bricks from a chimney that was taken down. Unsure if there is enough bricks to complete the job.
