Quite the most conscientious building firm I've ever employed: thorough, courteous, with a high standard of workmanship and an excellent finish. I recommend Jacob Adam without reservation. It was a pleasure to have them working in my house.Howard
we need to build a downstairs toilet. we already have a conservatory which did not need planning permission and we would like to have a toilet inside the conservatory
Richard did an excellent job. He completed the work in time and was very gentle and courteous builder.
It was easy to interact with him and he was very helpful in receiving goods in our absence. He suggested us where to buy materials and was always available on the phone. He also dealt with Building regulations and followed their advice.
Since, its the first time we have interacted with any builder; we would highly recommend him.Shubha

I am after a quotation for an outdoor building to serve as a workshop.
Current situation:
I have recently purchased a property in Cambridge which has a car port at the bottom of the garden with double doors facing out onto a road at the rear of the property. Access is available from the garden into the side of the car port.
The car port has a concrete foundation, though this is not terribly level (it has a lowered section around the outside of the foundation which is about 1cm lower than the rest, as well as a lowered section in the centre).
Size of the space (roughly) is 2.4metres wide x 5metres long.
Requirements:
What I am after is a workshop which will provide protection for my tools and space to work. Based on this, I need something which offers:
Large, sturdy doors facing out to the road which can be accessed from either within the structure or without. (Standard up and over door would probably be fine)
A personnel door on the side to allow access from the garden
Watertight and reasonably insulated structure to protect the contents from damp (as much as is reasonable for a building of this type)
Power/lighting points which can be connected to the mains from the house
Side windows next to the personnel door (Optional)
Pitched roof (Preferred but not necessary)
It's probably best to go with the assumption that the foundation will need to be improved, though I have no idea how much work this would entail.
