Reviews of Builders in St Neots, Cambridgeshire

Eaton Ford, PE19

We are planning to convert our integral garage into an extra living room and would like quotes to give us an idea of the size of room on completion and the likely cost of the work.
Martyn and his team have just finished our garage conversion, creating also a small utility room at the rear, with fitted units and built-in cupboard. We were very impressed with both the quality of work and every tradesman involved in the job. They were reliable, polite and tided up after themselves before leaving every day. Martyn and Kelvin came up with clever, space-saving ideas such as the use of sliding, 'pocket' doors and everyone has been impressed by our new rooms. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Greg has done an excellent piece of work. Hard-working, punctual and working full days, he has also cleaned meticulously everywhere. I highly recommend his professionalism, honesty and high standards. Thank you Greg and I hope to use you again in the future.

Inside of external supporting wall developed deep crack. Insurance surveyor confirmed not subsidence, but crack needs deep chasing/gouging, supporting blocks bolted together, re-plastered/filled. Surveyor also suggested installing joint reinforcement (helibars). The crack itself is now running approximately eight feet top to bottom. This would suit a general building contractor experienced in effecting structural repairs. It would be an ideal small job between larger jobs, and I would estimate one or two days work at most, all indoors, with no scaffolding/ladders etc required.
George did a great job for us and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to others. Our requirements were relatively simple compared to George's normal building contracts, but he still applied the same degree of diligence and customer care as if we were having an extension built! First class job - Thanks George

Ray and Russell are a great team to have in your house..polite and friendly. Quality of the work was carried out to a good standard and Ray was more than happy to take on any additional work

The chimney is situated on the church roof and architect has said that the cornerstone (quoin) has moved allowing ingress of rainwater behind the lead flashing, quoin stone/s need to be rebedded and the lead flashing to be checked to ensure that it is secure. Any loose and open mortar joints to be repointed. It is important that a lime based mortar is used, ideally a natural hydraulic lime such as NHL 3.5. This is mixed with sand in the ratio 1part NHL3.5 to 3 parts sand. If a softer sand is required due to the narrowness of the mortar joints in may be necessary to use a 1:2 mortar mix ratio”.

St Neots Eynesbury, PE19

Just bought a house, want to replace the front door. We have a porch that was built after house that has an arch approx 8ft at the front. We want to move the external door to the arch (arch needs squaring to suit) and install a new internal door where the current external door is. Porch has a single layer of brick for the walls with a flat roof. Not sure if it is a requirement to add an additional layer of brick. If possible, quote for both arch conversion and arch conversion with new PVCU door fitted.
