Budget Under £4,000

Job I have a report by a structural engineer. Recommends rebuilding the upper storey of the bay, with adequate support for the re-built structure. Should also be tied back to the front wall. I couldnt find a category to put this quote in as it relates to the bay window of my house and don't really have an indication of cost. I can let builders have more detail from the report from the structural engineer.

Budget Under £4,000

Job 1. Supply and fit upvc door - must have a cat flap! 2. Brick up existing door to downstairs loo and open up a new doorway on the other side. 3. Whole house needs repointing. Standard 3 bed semi. 4. Raise height of small section of flat roof over the downstairs loo. This bit of roof is lower than the rest because there used to be a boiler flue above it (do I mean flue?). Bit difficult to explain - builder needs to see it really.

Comment Started the job then let us down so many times - the car is being serviced/van broken down/mum has a burst pipe/its raining 10 miles away etc etc. They also regularly arrived without the necessary tools such as saw, screws, PVA. Against our better judgement we paid as we went along and they have now disappeared leaving about £500 worth of work we had paid for not done. No response to emails or voicemails so will have to go to small claims court. Ann
