We need two internal supporting walls knocking down to open out our kitchen and separate back/breakfast room into one larger dining kitchen. They are both supporting walls and so at least one rsj will be needed
They were quick to contact us to arrange to come and see the job; fast to provide us with a competitive, written quote; and both very likeable people. They were able to fit us into their schedule when we needed them; the job was done in the timescale they quoted at the price they quoted. They were very flexible - including extra jobs we realised needed doing as they went along. They were clean and tidy, polite and personable. We are very pleased with the result and will be having them back in 2012 for "phase 2" of our project! :-)

Updated : Still looking for tradesmen, we're extremely serious about getting this done - don't be put off by us having to get rid of the last workman... there was a genuine reason behind it! (happy to explain to you away from this site) Original : Unfortunately we have just had to fire our previous builder so we are now on the market again to get the remaining works completed.
There are multiple aspects to the job - a fair bit of plastering work, bricking up a couple of windows, installation of french doors & a window (previous builder will be providing these to us asap) and potentially some roof works and work to the fireplaces, and maybe even some other bits as well (this can be discussed later).
Note that there are no problems with any of the works that have already been done, they are to a good standard - just unfinished - so don't worry about coming into a DIY SOS project!
Won't go into detail about previous events here (we can explain that in person) but we are very keen to get all this completed quickly, as I am sure you yourselves will be too!
