This is the conversion of an existing Grade 11 listed cob building and newly constructed garage, into a one/two bedroom annexe cottage. The old cob building circa 1600 has been extended recently into a 2 car garage, and the plans include converting the old cob part of the building, but rebuilding the newer 'garage' part into a 1/2 bedroom single story dwelling with open plan kitchen/living room, open beamed ceilings. Building must be ready to move into by latest July 2012.
Terrible Experience. Poor quality workmanship, had to dismiss builders before the work was completed and bring in a Professional builder to complete the build. I would not recommend to anyone else.Jane

Conversion of existing cob/stone barn into 2 bed dwelling
We are a village hall in Shebbear and half way through a renovation, at the moment we need to change an outside window, into an outside door access.Currently half the window is plasterboard on the inside to form a proposed internal door. The original crittal window has been left in situ but now vandals are breaking the window panes. We are looking for a quote for installing a fire exit door and making good outside wall.

A number of jobs need finishing. We have full architect plans and details, an outline is as follows:
Front and back verandahs need completing.
Some ridge tiles need adding to new roof.
Foundation and structure for conservatory.
External drainage (biodigestor in place) need completing
guttering, downpipes and soakaways.
External bargeboards, facias and finals.
Some cill boards.
Partial bricking up of 2 openings (one doorway, one patio type doorway) to receive windows above.
External rendering including forming decortative quions and plinth.
Making good works associated with plumber and electrician.
Repair floor and replace joists in bathroom.
We have just had pp approved to turn 2 small barns into a business workspace. Our fist project is to get barn one completed asap! It is a cavity wall 100 year old slate roofed coach house, area approx 48.5 square m each floor. We ideally need a complete service including making the wooden 'attic' floor sound and strong and putting in a safe workable staircase to access it, making sure the roof is properly weatherproof and secure, insulating a small office space of 9 square m to building regs, and removing a wooden partition wall, screeding the floor, and generally making inside a clean, neat working space. We then need security measures put in place on the doors and windows, cctv and alarm. Also, we have fury guests so bat boxes need to be fitted outside!
