To have an unused living room chimney breast/stack removed from a single level 1930s detached bungalow.
Chimney is pebbledashed and I think moisture has penetrated the stack where it meets the wall and is making a metre long section of my living room wall damp.
Fireplace in living room has previously been removed and made good so this job is all external - remove chimney and stack to ground level, make good slate roof, make flush with rest of external wall and pebbledash.
Chimney is about extends around 6 feet from edge of bungalow pitched roof which is around 12 feet from the ground..
Glen did a fantastic job. Very professional service and I'm very happy with the result. Will use again.Neil
Dormer shower room extension to bungalow and fitting of showeroom and kitchen. Rewiring and new central heating system to whole house.
Stuart and his team were hard working, polite and tidy workers.Open to discussion. We have a small amount of outstanding work still to be finalised, but we are confident this will be done to our satisfaction. The work carried out is of the highest standard. Happy to recommend. Coral
It's hard to judge the quality of a roof repair, when you know nothing about roofs. However, my experience of Weather Proof was a good one. Friendly and knowledgeable, I feel that they did a good job at a very fair price.Evelyn
Building a firewall (gypsum board and firebatt?) to divide the shared roofspace between our neighbouring property and our own roofspace.
There are no plans and a building warrant is needed.
For approximate size: the maximum height of the roofspace is 67 inches in the middle and the width of the space is 141 inches. The space is triangular in shape.
We were very impressed by Bann joinery and can't praise them enough. James is very nice and did a great job. We were pressed for time with a deadline for an attic firewall for a retention on our mortgage. James got our job done quickly and for a reasonable price. They worked hard, not sure if they even had a break, and stayed until late in the evening to get the job done. They were also very clean, and swept the front path on finishing the job. On the way out, James even noticed our door lock was loose and fixed it for us. Really impressed and will be asking them back for other work soon.Philip
We have an outside garden room that in order to satisfy Building Control, needs a wall of 140mm concrete bricks built down two sides -it already has Sipps panels but needs extra fire protection. It will need a small foundation laid
We are very satisfied with the work Woods has done. The quality is top notch. They always turned up when arranged, and worked hard to get the job done even working late. Their lead guy Mark who is the one you talk to is very polite, approachable and flexible. He helps you find the most affordable way forward without losing quality. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. What a relief to have an easy happy experience with builderspenny
Third floor late Victorian flat. Works needed are:
1) Knock through brick loadbearing wall (approx 2m wide) between living room and internal kitchen. Insert steel lintel, box out, remove debris etc, but no decorating. Building warrant is being submitted today, and has a structural engineer's certificate, so is not expected to take long.
2) Remove empty water tank from bathroom (I think it is fibreglass, not lead).
We're hoping to start the work in the 3rd or 4th week of September (though would happily do it earlier if it were possible!).
Thanks
Alison and Dave Morris
We needed an internal structural masonry wall in our top-floor flat demolished and a new steel lintel installed, plus an old water tank removed from the bathroom. Max Bud did a great job for us, friendly and helpful from the first day we met them.
We particularly liked that they were one of the very few companies who were willing to quote for doing just the structural work we needed, so that we could save money by doing some of the non-specialist work ourselves. They also gave us really helpful advice about the work that we planned to do on our own.
Work commenced promptly and was completed at a fantastic pace. When we changed our minds on some of the details, and even asked for extra electrical and plastering work, Jakub and his team didn't kick up a fuss but got right on with the extra requirements and completed everything within the originally quoted time. The only negative point of the whole job was that Jakub forgot to add on VAT when giving a price for the additional work we requested.
They were helpful, hard-working, flexible, and friendly throughout the project, and we'll definitely be calling them again should we ever have more work to do.
Highly recommended.

Key work items are as per the below.
Open up load bearing wall between kitchen and dining room to create open plan kitchen diner (basement level)
Move existing kitchen into kitchen diner space
Replace existing U shaped stair with straight stair (ground to basement level)
Moving stair will create new entry to bedroom on ground level, so new door will be created and existing door will be sealed
Create partition wall to create small study
Create new window in already converted basement. New window would have tanking implications
Plans have been drawn up and will be submitted to building control shortly.

Extensive renovation of a small one bedroom flat in Dean Village (B listed building, 45 square metres in total).
The job involves:
-Rewiring of flat (it has old electrics)
-Installation of gas central heating, combi-boiler and shower
-Removal of lead water tank in bathroom and copper water heater in hallway cupboard
-Knocking down kitchen wall (possibly supporting) to create open plan kitchen/living area
-Possibly knocking down small wall in bathroom which may have been created to support the water tank
-Installation of new bathroom suite
-Possibly installation of new kitchen suite
-Removal of wood panelling on walls (fairly easy to prise off as only tongue and groove, but there are a few electrical sockets attached, hence we have been reluctant to do it ourselves)
Due to the extensive nature of this renovation, experienced builders only please.
Timing is negotiable: we would prefer to start ASAP but understand that rewiring/gas installation may mean we have to move out for a while. If so, the job may have to be September due to work commitments, but if not, then as soon as possible/flexible.
