Coldharbour, DA11

We have recently had a structural engineer draw plans to add supporting steel beams to our loft to support a new floor. We are looking for a quote for the installation of these beams, and advice on how to support the ceilings below when the new floors are installed? (The structural engineer has advised that his designs for installing the new loft floor would allow for the support of the ceilings below).
We found Tom to be polite, professional and extremely helpful in our search for a contractor. He took an interest in our plans, and also offered his own alternative, cost-effective ideas. Even though we ultimately did not proceed with the planned conversion, I would certainly be in contact with Tom for any future structural work we undertake.

Updated : This is an update to an old kitchen. Nothing structural -mainly decorating and electrics but I want someone to manage all the different tradesmen- i have no idea what the cost would be so I have picked the mid-point of your suggestion. Original : Our kitchen is two adjacent rooms- we want to have a new floor, take an old dresser off the wall and make good that and re hang a ladder style radiator. The halogen lights under cupboards have all gone wrong and one in the ceiling also needs fixing- not a transformer or bulb problem- tried that!
Work about to start but pre work contact very good. Prompt estimate, payment schedule, and planning phone calls. So far so good!

investigation and repair to an external wall/window surroung. We believe an internal room has suffered storm/flood damage (to the wall and window frame) as a result of the original wall failing. It appears to be the pointing, and possibly the configuration of the cavity allowing water to get across from the outside.
After posting the job, Leigh of Elite Building & Maintenance, got in touch straight away. He immediately came out and quoted for the work, I felt that I could trust him and instinctively knew he would do a good job! He carried out the work and finished it that week - all to a very high standard. A great service that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

2 walls to be removed - 3-4m wide x 2.5m h 1 wall to be built - 3-4 m wide x 2.5m high
Martin did a great job, we would happily recommend him to others and ask him to quote for any future works. Martin was very professional throughout. The quote he gave was clear, thorough and competitive. During the works every effort was made to minimize mess and disruption and great consideration was given to the fact we had a newborn baby (I don’t think you’ll find many builders that will plan noisy works around nap times!). Martin was also very trustworthy; from day one we didn’t hesitate to leave him with a set of keys. The job took slightly longer than originally predicted, which was in part due to a few additional works Martin did for us at no or little additional cost. All-in-all the attention to detail Martin gave to the end result was worth waiting a little longer for.

Knock through internal load-bearing wall in Victorian Terrace house, insert Reinforced Steel Joist, brick up one doorway.
Jason did a very good job with knocking down the wall, kept us informed of everything he was doing, and made arrangements for the council to inspect and certify all the work. We were so impressed we asked him to stay on longer to fit some wooden flooring for us. He always cleared everything up, his work was very neat, and he was very reliable. We're going to keep him in mind when we're ready to give our bathroom an overhaul too! Would definitely recommend.

Remove small, non supporting wall from hall to kitchen. Replace & centre arched doorway to kitchen. Wall size width approx 5 feet with door off centred at the moment.
Matt provided an excellent service. He was quick, clean and efficient. He built an arched doorway, kept me fully informed of his progress at all times and arrived when he said he would. A thoroughly professional service. Jeanne BR1

Structural drawings have been done and Bromley Building Control Notified. Removal of chimney breast both upstairs and downstairs. Fix steel as per drawings.
The guys did a fantastic job without all the usual hassle of dealing with builders. As a woman, I was a bit worried about having to deal with builders but the team weren't in the least bit intimidating; they were very approachable and friendly. We were so impressed with the work, they ended up doing more than just the chimney breast removal. We'll be inviting them back for the second phase of the building work. The work was carried out to a high standard, competitively priced and professional but best of all, the team were a pleasure to have working in our house. Jason manages expectations really well and his experience clearly shines through. We would highly recommend them and we're looking forward to working with them again. Thanks for all your hardwork guys and for putting up with the poor working conditions (it was freezing) without complaining - it'll be warmer next time :-)
