Job Updated : Either: Replace failed pebbledash rendering to an external disused boiler chimney breast on a 2 storey outside wall - area about 4m high x 500mm wide - and paint white afterwards Or: Take down the remining stub stack (about 450mm high x 450 wide x 450 deep - top was removed years ago) and external breast (single flue (about 450 wide x 300 deep), bricking/blocking up the slot in the 9" house wall, pebbledashing, painting white. Includes making good to roof (concrete plain tiles) where the stub stack now is, new section of fascia (timber) and gutters (pvc). Original : Either repair failed pebbledash rendering to a disused boiler chimney on a 2 storey outside wall, or take it down, bricking up the wall, re-rendering and making good to roof and gutters. Top of stack removed years ago, this is just the U-shaped external chimney breast.

Comment Job started on time but final completion delayed by the weather - no point in doing outside painting of new render and timber work during fog and rain! Job completed as soon as the weather and surfaces dried up enough to do so, with no delay or cost quibbles. Alan

Budget I'm not sure

Job Over the last 9 months one area in the lounge room has become noticeably 'bouncy'. House is brick on sloped plot. No trap door to under house, but appears one area has been re-bricked - possibly for previous access under house. Flooring is relatively new hardwood boards over original pine boards so am not keen to entertain ripping through the floor for top-down access if at all possible.

Comment Quality of the work was very good, he was prompt and very professional and friendly. Work was completed ahead of schedule which was great. Unfortunately the cost blew out 60% more than the original quote which I was disappointed at - it happens I guess but I expect experts in their field to get it closer to the mark. Melinda

Comment Michael's work was fantastic; the patio looks great and the finish is of the highest standard. He took time to find out what we were hoping to achieve, offered good advice and as a result has totally transformed the garden. Both Michael and Steven arrived on time every day for two weeks and cleared up after them leaving the side access and drive as clean as it has ever been. My experience has too often been trades people arriving late or not turning up or not finishing jobs to the standard expected. I trusted the comments others had made about Archway Construction and I wasnt let down by them. I have nothing but praise for the standard of their work and the manner in which it was carried out. Job Single storey side extension to be garage/downstairs wc and a utility room Wall knocked down to make a large Kitchen/breakfast room

Comment DO NOT USE THIS PERSON. He took most of our money and did not finish the job. We have 2 children under 7 and he has left us without a kitchen and he refuses to take our calls. He constantly lied over the 11 weeks he was with us and did not show up most weekends. He was poorly organised and used to disappear during the day and leave work for his staff to do. His staff always let him down as he does not pay them. I hope that no one else goes through what we have had to endeavour over the last 4 weeks. He is 4 weeks over schedule. Also he gave us a false address as his parents answered the phone and would not give his details out. I urge people not to use his services. Yasmin
