There is a patch of (what looks like) damp/mould in a corner of our front bedroom. It is only in one area and not in any other part of the room, or the room below so I believe is a localised problem and maybe just a crack on the outside wall. I'd like someone to come round to assess and see whether we just need to add sealant or whether any repair work is needed. Many thanks Mel

Saw the property the next day, diagnosed the underlying issue immediately with a very reasonable cost and undertook the work on the same day. We will source a new window to the largest opening you are able to make which we will then ask you to fit. The largest opening is likely to be one brick wider and two bricks taller but you will need to review the space due to a beam. We also need an opening for an extractor fan. We do not require planning permission to change anything on the back wall of the house.

A. Bedroom 1. Strutting is required between the floor joists to correct a springing suspended floor. The strutting / strengthening works required consist of inserting noggins between the floors joists. The existing floorboards have to be lifted first and replaced when the work has been completed. Approximate room size = 4.1m * 3m B. Dining Room. Construct single step down from dining room to kitchen floor level, width of step to be same as standard door aperture and inset into dining room floor. Step to be constructed of pine floorboards to match existing floorboards. The previous step down built on the kitchen floor was removed during kitchen refurbishment to free up floor space in the kitchen. C. Bedroom 2. Reconfigure current cupboard space accessible from bedroom one and two above stairs. Current arrangement is for two half width cupboard accessible from single door from each bedroom. Work required is to remove plasterboard stud wall separating the two back to back cupboards, and block the access from bedroom 1 side by removing door frame and blocking aperture with a new stud wall.
After agreeing the quote and the start date, Graham first delayed by a week and then cancelled my job as he accepted more work on his current site. This was very inconvenient for me as I had arranged other work which was dependent on our agreed timing, as well as paying for a council parking permit for his vehicle which is non refundable.

Needs to be pulled down and replaced, one wall of conservatory is shared with neighbours, will be doing this together with them. approx size: 2.2m x 3.8m 2 walls already are part of house so only need: Adjoining wall to be replaced with breeze block, capped with coping stones. Floor to be suspended beams bringing it level with existing house. Front wall to be dwarf wall with door and window between existing wall and new wall. Roof to be 40mm polycarbonate.
Eric was great, very clean and punctual. Was not the cleanest or easiest of jobs given the weather and the access problems, he handled everything very well. Cleaned up after each day. Would happily recommend and use again when anything else comes ready to do. PS Selco was the biggest problem!!! Very unreliable and far from punctual only 8 hours late on a delivery!!

I was more than pleased with Lee's work. He did a fantastic job at a very fair price. He was conscientious and kept me informed throughout of what he was doing. I would not hesitate in recommending him and will certainly be using him again for some brick laying in the back garden and any other building projects in the future.

I had a structural engineer visit my house today, as I tried to claim on my insurance. Hallway wall has been bowed for a number of years, underlying problem is the wall is supported on a wooden beam, which under the pressure and last 100 years, is splitting and giving way. He suggests, two padstone bases build, whilst propping the house wall up with an acrow, inserting an rsj in place of the wooden beam. He estimates a couple of days work, and approx cost 500. Willing to take offers on this.
good job done, but felt they could have done a more comprehensive fix, by building a concrete plinth to raise the beams from the damp floor. overall though not bad, they were reliable, good punctuality and attendance and cleaned up well.
