He arrived when he said he would, gave me a reasonable quote without trying to over egg things and gave me regular text and e-mail updates, until the work was done. Budget Under £500

Job Extension roof has leaked rainwater into kitchen/bathroom, leak needs to be sorted and new plasterboard fitted and ceiling replastered

Comment John is an excellent builder, he knows his stuff, is hard working and conscientious. He came round for a quote when we arranged and started the job a couple of days later as arranged, he stayed on the job until completion no disappearing to do another job elsewhere. Most importantly there was no money asked upfront. The building work was first rate, with a nice smooth finish on the ceilings (I like). Unfortunately the roof still leaked but John was round next day to investigate, John came round 4 times to try and find the source of the leak which was found to be rats/mice chewing a nice big hole in the new felt (again). I watched him repair the hole which they've promptly chewed through again later so I'm now left with a leaky roof and mouldy ceiling so back to square one for me, only £650 lighter, once I've killed the rats/mice I'll fix the roof myself. John's a rubbish rat catcher but top rate builder. ben
