Possible removal of existing kitchen (householder might do this)
Plastering to make walls good
Electrical work - additional sockets
Plumbing - sink, built in dishwasher, washing machine.
Gas fitting - connect exisitng gas supply to hob.
Fit new units, including pro form laminate worktops.
Our overall comment is that we're delighted with this complete kitchen refit. We decided to source the units, appliances and tiles ourselves, then find a tradesperson to fit. The process can be daunting, but Martin was very professional at all stages from initial quote, to actual fitting.
We were originally looking for a tradesperson who met the following criteria:
- Do or arrange to do all the required trades. Martin undertook all, apart from electrical work and gas fitting (due to the regulations involved). However he organised these tradespeople as part of the job.
- Listen to and discuss our requirements in "layman's terms"
- Deliver a high quality finish on time at a reasonable cost.
- Invest the hours required to deliver a high quality job.
These criteria were met comfortably. We'd have no hesitation in asking Martin to quote for other jobs in the future.David
Remove garage door and replace with window and brickwork to suit. Knock through existing wall through into garage and make good. convert garage 18ftx8.5ft into living area with flooring heightened approx 1ft to match rest of house. As well as laminate wood flooring & plastering to walls with 3 or 4 double electric sockets and 8 sunken lights into ceiling. Radiator will need to be added too. Loft hatch & ladder need to be made also as well as advice on the boiler which is in there at the moment.
DC Building services I would recommend to others. He has a good team working for him and I found him to be helpful and someone you could communicate with. They have finished our conversion to an extremely high standard and we are very happy with the result. The job was completed slightly later than 3 weeks. It cost more than he had originally quoted as he added on little extras towards the end. It would be better for Des if he told us it was going to cost extra, rather than just adding it on at the end. So please be aware of these issues. Nonetheless the job was excellent and we are pleased with the price and workmanship. We would use him again.David
Unsold Job, Updated Details : All materials need to be provided.
Our house is quite old so the chimney needs to be repaired, it is used for our gas flue and has two unused flues,, which may account for the water ingress.
I have no idea what this job might cost to do, obviously we need to discuss the project. Original : Chimney render cracked and breaking off, water penentrating down the side of chimney breast inside the property. Chimney is quite high so will need scaffolding.
