"We needed a small extension built at the back of our new house and some remodelling on the ground floor of the house to accommodate a new kitchen and downstairs cloakroom. Remodelling consisted of removing a chimney breast on the ground and 1st floor of the house, removing some walls, inserting steels and building new walls. Work was to be carried out to 2nd fix and decorating included for the new build. We also need all ceilings in the house skimmed. As we were new to the area and didnâ??t know any trades people we used Rated People to source for this job. Marek contacted us and came on site and gave us quote for the job quickly and we agreed a price and schedule. Work started when expected and the work team was reliable and turned up to work every day (except for Sundays). The new extension build came on quickly and building control visited regularly to ensure that regulations were being met. We were however disappointment with the quality of finishing on the plastering. This had to be redone at least twice and in the end we ourselves had to rectify work that was unsatisfactory. Marek did bring in a new plasterer to complete the last ceiling which was more acceptable. Also decorating work carried out was sub standard and we had to redo this work also. Once all the labour had been completed, as part of our agreement, Marek was to source and provide us with the regulatory documents i.e. Building Control and the Part P for the electrical work his team carried out in the kitchen. However since labour has been completed Marek has gone to ground. We have tried on many occasions to contact him and in fact did speak to him once when he said that he would sort it out and get back to us. 3 months have now gone by since work finished on this project and we have still heard nothing from Marek. We have been in touch with Building Control and they have said that they have not heard from him. We now have the precarious task of sourcing the regulatory documents ourselves and hope that the work (mainly the insertion of steels) has met the current requirements. We are very disappointment with the outcome of this project and would not use or recommend this firm again for any future work. "
