From the point of the initial quote right through to the snag-lists and final signing off of the job, all communications with Weardale Construction were amiable.
We found Dave and his team to be friendly, honest and approachable. This was a major concern at the start of works as timescale meant not only were there 2 adults, 3 chidlren and a dog living in the house whilst the sizeable extension and alterations were underway, but also the construction happened in the 8 weeks before Christmas and just to tip the stress levels a touch further, we also got married in the middle of the project too!
All of the concerns we had were alleviated by the team being wonderful around the children (one of which is disabled) who went out of their way to ensure that home still ran as smoothly as possible throughout the duration of the project.
The quality of Weardale Construction’s work cannot be faulted and here is where special praise has to be expressed to the bricklayer – as we have people commenting all of the time on what a fabulous job he almost single-handedly did of the exterior brickwork and worked tirelessly to maintain our schedule of works.
The Team at Weardale Construction are all approachable and when one or two minor issues did arise throughout the 8 weeks, they were dealt with swiftly, addressed and rectified where necessary.
All communication with Council Inspectors, including inspection visits, were efficiently dealt with and everything ran very smoothly.
We must also express that although at times it did feel as though we were never going to get our house dust free ever again, essentially the builders were tidy, mainly leaving areas clear at the end of the day which enabled us to continue living in the house throughout.
The trustworthiness of the entire team was never brought into question as there were several times when both my husband and I were out at work and the builders were left with the house keys to come and go as they pleased – they were even happy to let our dog out through the day when we were working, something which was very kind and helpful but not expected..
The team quickly became part of the fixtures and fittings around the house and after 8 weeks it was strange to have our home handed back to us, builder free – but we have a quality extension and a beautiful home thanks to Dave and his team.
We would and have recommended them to family and friends and Weardale Construction have secured a number of contracts in and around our street from people merely observing the quality and speed of the works.
Overall we received a quality job at an affordable price were pleased we chose the right building company for our job – we would use them again for any future works………. And probably will.emma
During heavy rain water leaks through the wall near our upstairs bathroom window. This has caused a thin crack in the plaster above the window and water running down the wall affecting the paintwork. We need the source of the leak identified and repaired
Prompt service and an honest diagnosis - recommendedMike
We have a chimney in our Victorian Terrace kitchen and want to make the opening taller to accommodate a range cooker and hood. The lintel would need to be moved up approx 50cms. If possible and right price might also consider an arch.
Neil was spot on - made a really good job of the arch and tidied up after.Dan
