We have various things that we would like to do in our house, and believe that a joiner is the right person to contact to quote. We are seeking one or more good quality tradesmen and the potential for follow-on work is significant. What we need doing: 1. We have an awkward space that we would like to fit solid wood (we are thinking Oak) drawers, wardrobes and storage cupboards into. The space is unusual in size, and we want to make the most out of it, changing it into a dressing room/ storage area. 2. We have some bannisters at the top of some stairs that we would like replacing. 3. We have an old wooden window that we would like replacing I would like to hear from people that could do one or more of these jobs. Thanks Mark
I cannot recommend Russell highly enough. He transformed an unused space into an object of Oak beauty! Before the job, Russell was professional and creative: coming up with ideas that we hadn't thought of and pricing the job quickly. During the job Russell was punctual, tidy and pragmatic: starting when he said he was going to, tidying up every day and also helping us redesign on-the-fly when better ideas presented themselves throughout the job. We have a (12'x10' approx) rectangular single glazed lean-to conservatory with twin sliding doors to the rear garden and two inner doors to lounge and kitchen. We wish to panel it out with tongue and groove dark stained wood, and line that panelling with insulation. We also wish to line the sloping glass ceiling with insulation and panel it (painted/artexed white), adding 4x2 dark stained mock beams in a frame like pattern to match the rest of the ground floor ceilings. The floor has been tiled and a radiator installed ready for use as a family dining room. The electrics are all installed on the 'house' walls that make up the inside half of the room. All that remains now is to panel out the two and a bit glazed walls to leave the existing windows and doors functional and panel over the rest of the glass to walls and ceiling. Our objective is to make the room functional as a dining room all year round and improve temperature stability. Inspection is recommended to allow accurate quotation for labour. Materials can be supplied by the supplier or by us as preferred.
