"The job involved replacing a small corner section of one of the barge boards which had gone rotten on my mothers house which I had thought would be a couple of hours work at most. I was anticipating a cost of approximately £50 but was quoted £90. In order to reduce the cost slightly I agreed to purchase the Sadolins stain which reduced the bill by £10, therfore making the overall cost £80. Looking at the quality of the joint that was made to the existing barge board I would not consider that Steve was a trained carpenter, but he was very pleasant to deal with despite being slightly expensive for the work involved. I would have no hesitation in recommending him but he needs to watch his prices and jointing skills!"
