Wooden door repair and installation in Murton
"
Upon first meeting graham,he was everything,he turned out not to be walking off the job after 11 days,Yes that's right 11 days to fit 8 internal doors ,bearing in mind he told me the timescale for the job was two days MAX.
Now the job stands still unfinished and my doors have been butchered, and are totally unacceptable, none of them close properly, they are all chipped and cut on an angle, and are all not cut straight on the sides they were planed on by his power tool, and the gaps underneath are ridiculous (bottom of door),there are chunks been unnecessarily taken out of where the hinges go,and where the lock goes, this is not the work of a professional craftsman by no means.
Graham blamed my cheap doors and door furniture, yet I must point out I paid £800 for my doors ,correct me if I am wrong ,but I do not class that as cheap !!
Graham complained continuously about my door furniture to the extent I went out and to extra cost to myself purchased new ones, for a second time in order to stop his constant complaining.
When I gave them to him he said these are not much better and went into a mood.I knew from his reaction that no matter what I did, nothing was going to be to Grahams liking, apart from letting him get the door furniture from his supplier and pay over the odds for it ,which I was not going to do.I know this because graham said on many occasions I will go and get materials from my supplier and add them to the bill, however I did not want anything adding on to the bill,as well as the fact when graham left for an hour for his lunch or if he needed to go somewhere he was away for 2 and 3 hours at a time, and on occasions didn't return until the following day.
Graham was not very particular about care within my home either,he banged my new doors into my newly plastered walls on several occasions whilst he was fitting them,he also banged my toilet ceiling light fitting with my door whilst fitting it and smashed it,then denied it had anything to do with him,he was overly untidy leaving tools all over my kitchen and hall when he was working in my conservatory, and had tools lying all over in there also,he also had electrical cables stretched across my kitchen benches from one side to the other and battery's charging all over my kitchen, which was totally unnecessary, bearing in mind he had 3 double sockets available to him in the conservatory where he was doing his cutting.
Another matter was the fact that he didn't even bother putting the attachment bag on his power tool to catch the sawdust and allowed it to go all over my home,my kitchen was covered in sawdust, the whole kitchen had to be cleaned before we could cook in it ,he basically just did not care.
The problem was the fact that if he had been working in a young persons home, some of the above would not have been a problem, but he was quite aware he was working in a partially sighted 92 year old mans home on this occasion where he was leaving hazards and obstructions all over causing potential risk.
Graham was very interfering, involving himself in private family business within my home on more than one occasion, which I did not appreciate, instead of getting on with the job he was there to do.
His attitude towards us after being asked politely to keep his opinions to himself, graham was unapproachable, about anything he did not agree with and did not want to hear especially when it came down to taking responsibility for any damage he caused due to his clumsy actions.
For the whole 11 days,he would come out with the same words "Its not my fault guys, You cant blame me, I didn't do it",he would then proceed to cause an atmosphere in my home by going into moods, stropping around the house with a long face totally ignoring everyone, totally unprofessional.
I would definitely not recommend Graham, however, don't take my word for it
BUT DON'T SAY YOU WERE NOT WARNED
This person has left a disgraceful unfinished job for me of which he should be totally ashamed , as should he be ashamed of his behaviour throughout the whole issue.
On the 2ND day Graham also approached me for an advance for some tee-shirts,I thought this is strange and not at all very professional, what has him purchasing tee-shirts got to do with me and why should I have to fund them, when my job has hardly started, bearing in mind my job should have been finished that day if the timescale he told me was correct.
Graham caused me a lot of unnecessary problems, because of his bad time keeping and his slow work pace and the fact that he would disappear for hours on end, made the timescale of 2 days to complete the work impossible to happen, making me lose out on my holiday that I had specifically taken off from work and had planned to go away, but because of the delays with this job made it impossible to happen, and the fact that he knew that he was behind with the work putting my carpet fitters back also didn't seem to bother him either, and he still continued to disappear for 2 to 3 hours daily and on 2 days came for half a day and left and did not return until the following day,and came for 30 minutes one day and left and did not return until the following day and the first day he came he arrived at 9 am and left at 5pm and did not a stroke of work ,other than stand talking and eating at meal times with us.
After walking off the job on day 11,Graham has sent me a threatening letter, blaming me for his hang ups, demanding an apology
.He has also told me he will on this occasion not be charging me for the work he has done.
He wants me to accept it as a good will gesture
WHY !!!
After a defamatory letter, accusing me of all fault with the total issue.
Could it be the fact that he does not want me to discredit his name or his business,or is it the fact that he knows that he wrecked my doors and that they were not to standard.
However I speak as I find
I will not be intimidated or my silence bought
I think decent innocent people, who are only looking for a good worker, have a right to know about the standard of this persons work.
And have the choice after reading this nightmare to come to there own conclusion.
I don't want anyone to fall prey to this person not being made aware of the risks, and end up in the position I am in,having now to seek another tradesman to rectify this mess.
Despite Grahams low opinions and nasty comments he made on me and my family in his letter,I am just a hardworking person that wanted only a good professional job doing,I personally cannot see any wrong in that.
I also do not get any pleasure in having to write a review discrediting anyone like this
However I must speak as I find and tell the truth about my experiences no matter how bad they are.
