We recently had a leak in the bathroom which has ruined the floorboards. We basically need the whole bathroom floor replaced, including joists etc. the bathroom is pretty small 1.5 x 2 m roughly. I presume the bath (which we want to keep) will have to come out. We are also looking at getting the whole bathroom retiled. Cheers
Paul turned up promptly to assess the job and sent quote soon afterwards. As this was a bit of an emergency (leak in bathroom requiring floor to be ripped up & replaced, with toilet, wash basin, tiles radiator and bath to be removed and refitted) Paul went out of his way to do it as soon possible. Excellent job done, lots of good advice given, very happy with the price, quality and time taken. Tiling done to a very high standard as well.

I have an external door in my kitchen. I'd like to put down some lino on the small kitchen floor, but have been advised by the flooring company that there isn't a big enough gap under the door, between the door and the floor, to fit the lino. I am looking for someone to take the door off it's frame and to take a bit off the bottom in order to fit the lino - I would estimate that only about a centimetre of wood at the most would need to be taken off - but can confirm how much is necessary at a later date.
Very prompt service (next morning) and he came exactly when he said he would! Cheerful and pleasant, and did exactly what he said he would. I was delighted and would really recommend Charlie.

Charlie was Brilliant from start to finish, and very reasonable too. Honest and trustworthy so much that he can be left alone to get on with his work. Would highly reccomend Charlie and he will be back to do some more work for us next month.

I need a joiner to quote and fit the following to an existing fitted kitchen ASAP. This needs to be done to support new granite worktops: - end panel fitted to integrated washig machine, 'L' brackets to attach units at sink area onto wall, attach feet and fix towel rail unit in place, attach 3" x 2" strapping to 2 parts of the wall plus across the corner area of the L shaped kitchen. The existing worktop has been removed in readiness. New granite worktops to templated once joinery work complete. Plus also quote for new wall cabinet trims.
Unreliable. Not recommended. Turned up on time on the Friday for a quote and provided competitive rough price for the job when asked. Advised he would contact me by phone and email over the weekend to confirm exact price and discuss dates to book job. He didn't phone or email me over that weekend. I phoned him on the Monday and got his voicemail and left a message. I called again on the Tuesday and left another message on his voicemail. That was a week ago now and I still haven't heard anything from him.

Replacement of plywood floor in small kitchen, due to small water damage. Then lay vinyl floor tiles/ vinyl floor. Also fix one batten of wood to floor under fridge to support fridge height under unit. (damage to retractable feet of fridge when moving - back feet snapped off when taking out fridge).
Gordon was a good guy who did an okay job for a simple relay of lino & acking up a fridge whose adjustable feet had broken. Generally happy with the result though in comparison with other tradesmen, I don't feel as though I got value for money. He arrived late, due to unforeseen circumstances and rushed the job.He obviously knows what he is doing but £150 for ripping up some floor tiles, cutting a piece of lino,rolling it out & sealing it & screwing a couple of bits of wood to the floor seemed steep.Sorry.

An enclosed cupboard containing 2 shelves which was on an internal wall in my internal kitchen, has fallen off the wall. One bracket seems to have come loose, although the internal wall does not seem particularly sturdy/smooth for such a heavy cupboard - I think some sort of joist will need to be embedded in the wall to make sure it holds the cupboard when it goes back up. The doors of the cupboard, which match rest of the kitchen, are ok, although the unit itself has cracked on impact with my worktop and fridge when it fell off the wall.
Gordon came round the day I added issue to have look at the job.Large kichen unit had fallen off an internal wall taking some of wall with it.He assured me he could bring timber round whenever suited me and would be able to put unit back up.He came round following night after work and very quickly fixed unit and attached back to wall-as I was nervous of same thing happening he proved how strong the new unit was by pulling his full body weight on it! No hesitation recommending and he def knows his DIY stuff

We want to install some new fire doors and a couple of non fire doors. The problem is our doorways are not standard sizes and we don't know which sizes of doors we should buy. We need some advice before we order the doors and then need them fitted. In total we have 8 doors which need to be replaced.
Very happy with the work done, couldn't ask for any better. Michael Connolly was very reliable and carried out the work when he said he would in an efficient, tidy manner and took away all of the old doors for us. This was not a simple job to do as all of our doors differed in size but they have been very well fitted and we are delighted with them. We are so happy with the work that we have asked Michael to fit new stair posts, spindles and hand rails for us. We would definitely recommend Connolly Joiners to anyone.
