Hardwood flooring installation and renovation in Greensted and Marden Ash
"this tradesman requested payment in full before completing the work quoted for. I explained I was uncomfortable with this arrangement which resulted in an awkward / uncomfortable conversation in the presence of my four year old daughter. I was made to feel guilty that I was in the tradesman’s mind questioning his integrity and honesty.I am a single mum and my daughter and I were left shaken by the incident. I did end up paying this tradesman in full in the hopes that the work would be finished. However, my work remains incomplete and my communications asking when the work will be completed have not been returned. During the work, I asked the tradesman to be careful working around my new slate hearth, but my hearth was irreparably damaged. Wrecklessness on behalf of this tradesman resulted in my kitchen slates adjoining the hardwood flooring in the dining room being broken which are going to be difficult to source and replace. My advice about the copper gas pipe fitted in the dining room for a flueless fireplace was not adhered to causing a significant rupture and gas leak for which I had to pay gas specialists for an emergency call out – the tradesman then refused to compensate me for the emergency call out. The work to fit my flooring was anticipated to take 4-5 days, but the work that was done took 49 days in total with an inordinate amount of stops due to other work taken on during my project. My flooring project remains incomplete despite the fact this this tradesman has been paid in full for which I have his signed acknowledgement. This tradesman caused a good deal of additional damage not described above during the work that was done. I would not recommend this tradesman. I did not read the terms and conditions. I have since learned that the onus is upon Users to look into the reputability and reliability of tradesman seeking work via this website. I have been advised that tradesman are allowed to sign up without any background checks. "
