I would like to have a laminate worktop cut into a semi-circular shape so that there is a flat edge to fit against the wall. This will form a fixed table / breakfast bar. The radius of the circle I would like is 600mm giving a total width of 1200mm but the depth would be cut off at about 850mm by the straight edge against the wall giving just over a half-circle shape. The worktop I have purchased is standard 40mm laminate and I have the edging strips and 4 individual legs to fit to the table. The worktop I have is 2050mm long and 900mm wide and is therefore large enough to have a 1200mm x 850mm shape cut out from it. The main requirement is for a tradesman who has a 600mm radius jig or can cut a curved shape with an industrial router machine.
John discussed the job by telephone and we agreed a time for the following day when he would arrive. John arrived at this agreed time and did a brilliant job of the breakfast bar / table. He uses some of the best quality power tools available and has a good knowledge of woodworking techniques if something not quite ordinary is required such as my circular table. Well recommended.

A new decking installation to the rear of my property. The size is approximately 100 metres squared - so fairly large. At the moment, we plan that the deck would just be a large oblong starting at the wall of the house and progressing into the back garden, although, a curved end may be a nice alternative. Half of the deck would be over existing tarmac that is solid but in poor repair, the remainder would be over grass. I envisage the deck supporting beams would need to be levelled to accommodate the difference in height and levels between the tarmac and grass.
