Job Need 6 doors hanging and handles applied. Frames need to be packed to make 1inch smaller. Small amount of skirting board work to complete. 12 feet. Timing: Within 2 weeks

Comment Andys work is first class, its not often you come across a trademan who still has real values of work and workmanship. I didnt realise he does other work apart from joinery. This guy is an asset and one i would not hesitate to recommend. Top draw, will use again Bernard

Job I have a loft conversion and want to provide some under eaves storage with built in cupboards etc.

Comment Let down by Jones of Bolton. Initially all seemed good, with Geoff giving good suggestions for the work needed. However, after some basic plumbing work there were several unresolved issues which were not rectified, with no apology offered. Communication was not good. We were left in the dark as to what was happening. We had the phone slammed down on us by Geoffs wife. blaming us for lack of contact! Had lots of work planned but now had to go elsewhere. Would not use again, and cannot recommend. Steve

Job We need laminate flooring laying in our new kitchen. The area is 8m2. The kitchen will be fitted the week starting April 2nd. We are about to buy the flooring and underlay.

Comment The communication before the job started was excellent. Gary arrived at our house at the exact time arranged and we were given a very friendly and professional introduction. I had to go to work so my mother came round and sat in. She said Gary and his son were very nice and true gentlemen.More work had to be carried out (due to my lack of knowledge) but this was done without any fuss. Comment Work was completed promptly and efficiently once he arrived - he was about an hour late and said this was due to a flat tyre. He never called to say he would be late. I had just had my stairs and landing professionally decorated, and Steve Holt scratched paintwork on the skirting boards and chipped paint on the stairs handrail, and left small chips in the landing walls and ceiling paper while fitting the doors. Also, its an old house and all the walls are wonky. Steve has fitted perfectly upright doors that now show 'out' the frames are, and leave a draught which is especially noticable in a large gap under the door to the third floor. I think he should have explained how fitting the doors slightly differently to those taken off would have an effect. So, otherwise good workmanship was spoiled by perhaps being a bit too rushed (albeit in a confined space) - I think he showed poor care and attention overall. This job will now lead to another. susan
