Modification to existing sash windows
Mark, the owner of PM Windows, quoted a fair price for replacing the sash cord in three large bay windows. He arrived on time and finished the job by midday. He used excellent quality cord that should last and was incredibly tidy. He's going to draft proof the front and back door next. I would highly recommend him.

A loft ladder/hatch purchased from Wickes needs to be installed. Loft ladder type: http://www.wickes.co.uk/timber-loft-ladder-and-hatch/invt/191204/ The hatch existing at the moment has a size of about 70 x 70 cm and the new hatch has a size of 115 x 57 cm. The thickness of the ceiling (as it can be measured in the existing hatch ) is about 13cm.

Repair/restoration of external first floor timber balcony in poor repair, including replacement of 9 balusters (80cm high), rail (2.3m wide) and conservation/repair of the two original upright pieces (1.8m high) above the rail. Prefer replacement with original-type turned spindles as on neighbouring properties. Will be painted afterwards. Floor of balcony is sound. Can provide photos.
Frank and Jason did a very good job and I would use them again. Frank reconstructed a Victorian balcony that was in a state of disrepair in the style that it would have been originally, keeping the original features that were able to be saved. It looks great. The cost was more than originally quoted due to unforeseen extras but Frank kept me informed of any additional materials etc. needed as he went along and OK'd the costs with me. No mess left behind and Frank and Jason were prompt and courteous. Recommended.

I need someone to build (and hang, if possible) a pair of wooden gates to fit a space of 6ft 6 ins. by 6 ft - currently filled by pair of wrought iron gates hanging from brick gateposts
This wasn't an easy job, but George and his colleagues did a very swift and thorough job, and we were pleased with the end result. The end price was more than George first quoted, due to using a sturdier material, but he let us know very early about this change, and we were still satisfied with the end-price, which was very reasonable, considering the sturdiness of the build and the quality of the workmanship. A minor glitch with the construction was fixed the very next day. We were a bit surprised when the team turned up so early on all the three days we were dealing with them - this wasn't ideal for us, as we have a young baby, but on the other hand, it meant the job got done quickly, and it was also many times preferable to people who show up hours late, or simply don't bother at all. George and co-workers were the sort of people you would be happy to have working in and outside your house - friendly and keen to do the best job. The gate is perfect. We would certainly recommend to anyone needing a similar job. Best wishes and many thanks.

I'm not sure
I would like 6 interior doors removed (I can arrange for them to be taken away) and 3 wooden panel doors to be fitted with new doors and fittings. I can order doors and fittings from a DIY store, though open to the carpenter obtaining them. Also would like 4 small wooden shelves put up. No need for a finish. CArpenter to provide shelf. Also to refit a small wooden panel under the boiler so that it fits in place correctly. Thank you
He arrived on time, advised on best products to use and cleaned up at the end.
