4 Shelves to be built in 3 different alcoves in a small flat. Shelves to go the full width and depth of the alcoves. Widths are between 88 and 120 cm. Only 4 shelves needed in each alcove about 40 cm apart. Depth of shelves vary between 25 cm and 40. Brackets may be required.
My experience with Igor and Son was excellent. They came to do a site survey within 24 hours and were quick and thorough and the quote was competitive. When it came to the actual job of custom made shelves, they were efficient, polite, and punctual and cleared up after themselves. I was very pleased with the finished product and have already asked for a second quote for additional work.

I have a 2 bed grd floor flat - approx 70 sqm. Looking for someone to lay flooring through all the rooms excl Bath and Kitchen. Some furniture to move around but only just moved in so not too bad..
He did a great job - the new flooring looks fantastic. Was there on time both days and worked late on the first day to make sure he could finish it on the second. Was good value compared to other quotes and also did an other small job for me while he was there and didn't ask for anymore. Would definitel recommend and will be using again for other jobs I have.

I have an edwardian staircase which has 2 knobs that are missing. I need to have these made to match the others and fitted. Also, I need to have some carpentry done to a my washing machine kitchen door. I have a new washing machine, but the hinges are now in the wrong place foro the existing kitchen door.
Turned up 30 mins late to quote job.Charged me £110 for 5 hours work. Did not align hinges in correct position for kitchen door as requested. Did not clean anything up after - left wood shavings everywhere.

We have had a concrete floor laid and would like to put back the previous wooden floor over the top. The concrete floor floor is dry (laid in November) and we would like to have this done as soon as possible. The job would require putting in place battons and refixing the prevoius floor boards where possible (which we have). The job may require using some new floor boards in places where the previous boards are not suitable. If possible we would like to lay some thin insulation as is used in laminate flooring. It may be necessary to level the floor by packing the battons etc. The room is approx 9sqm.
Lucas relaid a wood floor for us over a new concrete floor. The job ended up being more complicated than we originally thought as the boards were all different widths and thicknesses. This meant that Lucas had to level each one individually. The price did not change and the floor looks great. Lucas sanded and filled and stained it as well. We ended up getting a second job done by Lucas at the same time as we also had bouncy joists which he stabilised by strengthening and supporting them. I would definately recommend Lucas and would use him again. Everything was left clean and tidy. He also provided us with useful (and honest) advice on the rest of the floors and recommended against more expensive work on the basis of the results we would get from our old floor boards. I will use Lucas again to do the rest of the floors when we get this done.

My front door is sticking. The house next door is having its basement dug out and I cannot now open my front door from the inside. The door was first sticking against the door jam towards the bottom of the door. Now it appears to be sticking at the level of the lock which is at chest height. The lock is now catching which is stopping the door from opening.

Clapham SW4, 3 joinery jobs: 1) Take off main front door, which is sticking and not closing properly, plane head and sides as necessary and rehang with new hinges supplied. The door has a slight bow, not enough to warrant replacing it, but some adjustment of stops required, may fit new stops to make the painter's life easier. 2) Spandrel frame repair (a spandrel is the ornate timber frame below a portico/porch ceiling). It has been propped, rotten timbers cut out and new wood machined to match the original, it needs a new length put in and some new wood spliced in in places. 3) Dropped interior door frame. The door and lining need to come out and the noggin over the door head needs to be refixed level, at the moment there's a 35mm drop from left to right. The door will need fillets spliced to head and foot to make it rectangular, the archetraves on both sides need to come off and be refitted so that everything is neat and squared up. You will be an experienced professional with the necessary skills and tools. £ negotiable, I generally pay £120 a day, possibly more for a senior joiner. Parking permits supplied.
