None of the trade and job type categories on this web site fit this job so I've had to choose "type of job" which is completely misleading. Anyway ... My son, who along with 2 friends rents the house from me, told me there was a problem that he wanted me to look at so I drove up to Leeds from my home in Leicester. Unfortunately my son hadn’t warned me I’d need to bring a ladder to get a proper look at the problem. Some of the rendering above a double glazed window had fallen away and the wooden lintel above it was so rotten I could pull chunks away with my hand. Yet I was puzzled to find that the rotten wood was bone dry. Due to the lack of a ladder I could only reach part of the affected area. The cause and extent of the problem are both unknown and need assessing. I need someone who can establish the cause of the problem and discuss with me what needs doing without making the job any bigger or more expensive than it needs to be. At the very least the rotten wood needs replacing and some kind of repair needs making to the rendering. The effectiveness of the repair and protection of the fabric of the building is important to me. The cosmetic appeal of the job is, within reason, less important.

All the doors upstairs in my house (4 doors) open into the rooms and not into the wall. I would like to reverse the doors so they all open against the wall, so it creates more space, as our rooms are quite small. Could I please get a quote for reversing the 4 doors? Many thanks, Eva

Supplied and fitted a new front door, frame and fanlight window. Also replaced our kitchen worktop with a new oak effect laminate worktop that he recommended. Very impressed with all the work, got it done quickly and for a very competitive price. Highly recommended.

need a floor to ceiling cupboard building around a boiler in a spare room, about 95 cm high by 21 cm wide. May also need to box a pipe in next to the cupboard.
Great experience, steve was punctual and organised, he did a lovely skilled job building a cupboard using reclaimed doors we'd bought and making it fit into a period room as though it had always existed. Steve also did some carpentry in our kitchen fixing an end unit in which was tricky as we'd squeezed a washing machine in, he managed to solve the problem and finished everything off to a high standard and tidyed up! Highly recommended.
