We have natural ground water running down the hill of our street and its gathering outside our back door and lying under the neighbours house. The back garden is on a slope running away from the house, we know we will ned some form of soak away or maybe better still some form of drainage installed that will allow the water to run away to the bottom of our property and then onto the natural reserve that is behind the back fence. We have even thought rather than fight nature do we make the drain possible open so as it will be a feature in the back garden and allowing us to monitor it during the wetter weeks.
The area at back of our house that is currently affected we are planning to build a large extension and so we need to make sure that this ground water is running away freely from this area.
